Haus Update im neuen Jahr / House update in the new year

Mal sehen, was passiert...

Well, it's not looking good with our house. Today we got the news that someone interested in the house signed the contract to buy it. Now we have 4 weeks to move out. Great :-( Bad timing because Johannes is on holidays until the end of January, we will have an outreach team tehre and we will also hold a Youth Street camp and other activities.
So either a miracle is going to happen and the contract falls through out of whatever reason or we find something amazing where we can move into or we have to be billeted again.
I have to admit when hearing the news, I was a little overwhelmed but since then my perspective has changed a little bit again. God is still faithful and he has everything in his hand and he will also take care of this situation. Even when the circumstances might be totally crazy, I will hold unto that. We'll see what is going to happen...

Strasse ueberflutet / Roads flooded

Danke!

Oh great! I just lost the entire post that I wrote and since I'm using a friend's computer, I don't think that I have a lot of time to write. Anyway, I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I really enjoyed not being online for two weeks. Well, I don't think I have time to get into my holidays again but instead I would just ask you to pray that we will be able to get through to Mt Isa quickly. As feared, there was a lot of rainfall these past weeks so the road from Townsville to Mt Isa is flooded and we can't leave Townsville. The roads are blocked. It is pretty important that we can get going sometime this week since a new team will be coming next week and we will also hold a Youth Street Camp. Thanks guys!

Was für'n Tag! / What a day

Man,man...alles kompliziert.

********************************************************
I have to admit...today hasn't been the best day. I mainly packed and cleaned my room. Two things I love! *yeah, right*. I still don't like packing. It stresses me out and it takes me ages.

Then I can't find my iPod that I got for birthday/Christmas last year. I still had it on Friday in my car and then I took it into my room. I did have a few plastic bags and my purse with my though. And now I can't find it anymore. I searched my entire room, my car, my bags. My room is clean now but my iPod is still nowhere to be found. Bohoo...and exactly when I go on holidays.

Then I added up all my bills for my visa and realised that I already paid more than $1000.- for my visa - phew. These past months I finally was able to save some money and all gone again. More than $500.- for the visa alone but the rest was for medical, blood test, x-ray and Australian police check and several registered mails to send all those. There is my German police check that my dad will get for me but then I have to get it translated at a certified translator here. Crazy...so complicated. I think I have to find an Australian husaband ;-) then I won't have that problem anymore.
Ok, enough whining and complaining...I have to keep on packing (I just wrote down all my frustration and yes, I admit it, I needed some distraction from packing).

Urlaub / Holiday

Also erstmal: In Mt Isa ist momentan nichts los.
Möchte natürlich in keinen geraten.
Und last but not least, Überflutungen der Straßen wären ein Gebetsanliegen.

A few of you might have read my last blog and thought: Huh? Chrissie is going on vacation? I didn't know that.
First of all: There's nothing going on in Mt Isa. We have summer school holidays at the moment, so our weekly Youth Street crew goes down from over 30 to under 10. All of our other ministry is cancelled (school, Yallambee).
I have the impression that half of Mt Isa goes somewhere else over the holidays. Everyone visits their family who live somewhere else. Not many get visitors here.
So we thought to ourselves: Why not go away as well. Now we spend Christmas with our "family" in Townsville. Hopefully we still know the majority there ;-)
There we will stay until the 28th and then we head off to Cairns, an about 6-7 hr drive North of Townsville. The place where the rain forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. A real tourist place. There is a hotel that give great discounts to missionaries and it's supposed to be really nice. There we will stay over New Year's and then back to Mt Isa via Townsville. I'm really looking forward to it, especially to Cairns, since we will finally go on a real holiday.
Most likely we will take my car for the drive. Please pray for safety for the long drives.
On top of it, it's cyclone season and Cairns is always a popular destination for cyclones. Of course we don't really want to get into one. As exciting as it might be...
And last but not least, flooded roads is a prayer request. Even though it hasn't rained much in Mt Isa, it's rainy season in Northern Australia and around Townsville, streets can be flooded and we might not get through (my car is lowered). I'm adding a couple of pictures from the flooded roads that we faced going back from outreach from Mt Isa to Townsville. Thank you so much for your prayers. So don't be surprised if you won't hear much from me in the next couple of weeks!

Auto / Car

Endlich ein Foto von meinem Auto! Ford Falcon. Schön, oder?

Finally a picture of my car! Ford Falcon. Pretty, isn't it?

Visum / Visa

Danke! Das Neue wäre bis Anfang 2011 gültig.
*********************************************************************
Last week I spent most of my time to fill out my new visa application (heaps of paper work...the longer you want to stay, the bigger the the paper work gets). I have to get two certifcates of conducts from the police in Australia and the police in Germany. Tuesday I went to the doctor and to the hospital. I was checked from head to toe, my blood was taken, urine sample and x-ray. Saturday I have to go back because there is a tiny problem. Nothing to worry about medically but it could still be a problem for my visa. Mmm, I don't know how to explain it differently without getting to personal. Please just pray that everything will go so that the doctor is satisfies and me too. And please keep the visa in your prayers. At the end of January my old one will expire. Thank you! The new one would be valid until beginning of 2011.
