Umzug nach Mt Isa / move to Mt Isa

Hallo!

Tja, jetzt bin ich in Mt. Isa angekommen.

Vielen Dank!

Hello!

Well, I’ve arrived in Mt. Isa. Finally – after 1 ½ years! I live with a family of the local Baptist Church and have my own room and even my own bathroom. That’s a real blessing! Of course we still have to get to know each other until it will feel like home.

At the end of April, there is an American couple that will move to Mt. Isa as well to help us. We hope that we will find a house until then that we can all move into and that could become the base for Youth With A Mission in Mt Isa in the future.

Other than that I have driven in Australia for the first time. I still don’t feel really secure but at least I’m not panicking about driving anymore like before. But I’m still glad about Johannes riding with me. Sometime next week he might buy a new car though. A great deal from someone from church. Then I could use his old car that he had bought for only $1. Of course that’s amazing and really an answer to prayer! But thinking about driving all by myself and asking for the way still makes my stomach go crazy.

Well, actually the plan for next week was to help at an organisation that takes care of students that skip school etc. Yesterday Johannes received a call that those students have gone back to school. That’s of course good news as far as the students are concerned but bad news for us as far as work is concerned.

In 4 weeks time a discipleship training school team from Newcastle, Australia, will help us to start “Youth Street” here. Until then we will spend our time doing school programs during lunch breaks and in the afternoon at something like a boarding school. Besides all that we also just take the time to build relationships with local Christians and some potential future volunteers for “Youth Street”.

There are still a lot of other opportunities but we really want to spend the time to pray and ask God what we should do.

Well, I guess this gives you a little impression of what’s happening here. Could you please keep all these different issues in prayer! Thank you!
